Ekaete- Cathey Inih Ebong is a seasoned journalist whose experience spans around multimedia and online journalism, and who suffers from curiosity and the need to “tell it as it is”.
She began her career in 2006 with Xact Solution Limited in Lagos which exposed her to news gathering and online journalism for the popular Nigerian Television Authority(NTA) morning show , AM express, working on the then, http://www.nta-amexpress.com.
She proceeded to Channels Television in 2009 where she worked with the web unit of the organisation to manage and update their news website http://www.channelstv.com.
While at Channels television, Cathey worked in diverse areas in the 2 year span to improve the stations’ online presence by keeping up with updates on the website and their social media platforms.
She led the Vote 2011 online team which worked in conjunction with a sister organisation, IDS-Africa to keep viewers in and outside Nigeria up-to-date with the April 2011 elections across the country.
When Cathey is not writing, reading, listening or watching news, she is listening to music and sings mostly gospel music but is also interested in musicians that, (don’t say I said it) make sense!
If she is not reading or into some other sorta adventure, her past time hubbies include teaching and working mostly with children, which by the way, has blown her to schools like Rayfield International Schools- Uyo, Imperial Gate School-Lekki Lagos, apart from her NYSC primary assignment with Custom Secondary school, Maiduguri etcetera etcetera. Phew! she always seemed to fall into handling the drama and press clubs of these various schools, while also teaching literature and English (with a dramatic touch which children always loved).
Currently, Cathey is working with MiVO digital media who is into a range of digital thingys but is coming up with another explosive e-news portal which will take Nigeria by storm.
While that is cooking, enjoy a range of news stories within and outside Nigeria on different topical issues which affect us as a nation and as individuals.
